Why does my 1999 Ford Explorer's air conditioner shut off/switch to defrost when going uphill?
I have a 1999 Ford Explorer. When I drive it uphill, or put the engine under even moderate load, the air conditioner switches from blowing through the normal vents into the defrost. I have taken the car to a couple of different mechanics who have been unable to solve it.

How do I install an Aux In jack in a 2001 Ford Taurus?
I want to install an Aux In jack into a 2001 Ford Taurus. I'm ready to open up the stereo and drill a hole in the faceplate, but whatever is behind the faceplate is a mystery to me. It's not wireless.
It feeds your audio signal from a headphone jack ( or RCA cables) by FM modulation, directly into the antenna input on your radio bypassing the antenna when on, allowing the radio to work as normal when off. It comes with an On/Off switch that can used or it can be replaced with a relay powered by the remote wire from the radio (if so equiped).
This is the answer. Totally versatile.

Can I rebuild a 1950's ford Flathead engine than sell it for good profit?
I know of some guys who will sell their 1950's ford flathead engines. They are still in the ford customes but i can get them out. The cars have been siting their for a while but of corse they are in good conditon. Anyways i was wondering if it would be a good idea to buy them for cheap then rebuild them. I then would sell them on the internet. How can I get my blackjack phone to work with my Ford Sync?
Just bought a new Ford Edge limited that has the Sync system. I can get the phone to hook up to the system via bluetooth, but I can't get the phone book to download. I know technically, the blackjack doesn't have that capability. Don't know what year Taurus or Windstar you are referring to, but I know the Windstars from model years 1995 to 2000, used the AX4S transaxle. Model years 2001 to 2003 Windstars used the AX4N. Tauruses however used BOTH from 1996 to current. It may BOLT in. Whether or not, there are internal differences, I don't know, or at the VERY least, I'm not sure. In the front is a section on "Troubleshooting" that guides you step-by-step to find causes of most engine malfunctions based on the car's symptoms. Whether you do the work yourself or not, it helps you make informed decisions and not be taken advantage of, and to not feel so "in the dark."

Like using a brick or 2x4 to block the diagonally opposite wheel, have it in park, on a level surface (it can roll off the jack and land on the ground, then how will you lift it up to get the jack back under it?), use jack stands, etc. Don't take short cuts with safety items! You can get hurt!
That said, you can save a bundle by doing it yourself, and disc brakes are the easiest to work on.

Even using an auto manual with many pics, can still give you a headache.
If you have a friend that knows about brakes, ask them if they would come to your aid and teach you how to do it right.
If not seek out a good shop, cost anywhere from $50.00 - $100 per axel ( that means drive side and pass side / either front or back wheels) to replace.
My philosophy / theory is , “I need to stop before I can go”.
