How to manually overdrive or adjust power seats in a Ford Expedition 2005?

I have a Ford Expedition Eddie Bauer with a stuck driver's seat. The seat moves forward and back, but not up and down. The motor runs, but doesn't moves the seat, so no fuses or relays to check. It doesn't sound like a grinding noise, but it could. More than replacing it, I need to find a way to manually adjust it (there should be one!). Whoever tells me how, gets choosing Best Answer immediately :)How to manually overdrive or adjust power seats in a Ford Expedition 2005?The easiest way would be to swap the entire seat for a manual one. The next easiest way would to be to remove the motor and use the rails and associated hardware from a manual seat. The third choice would be to simply have the existing seat repaired. Unfortunately due to the nature of the electric motor, it won't "free-wheel" and allow to move it easily like you would a manual seat, unless you remove the motor, you'll always have to work against it, when you try to move the seat, and that's not going to be easy. Any way you do this, you'll be spending a couple hundred bucks. How to manually overdrive or adjust power seats in a Ford Expedition 2005?You can pull the seat out and fix it. I have done a few on my older cars. The motors run "speedo type" cables that drive the the gears. It's not "rocket science" but does require a bit of thinking. 2 or3 hours or less should it for the first time round. You will need a spare battery and some small test cables. and some thin grease.(Lubri-Plate)
