What's the average cost to reprogram the locking system and change the locks on a 2001 ford mustang?

The keys to my 2001 ford mustang were stolen. How much would the average cost be to reprogram the locking system and change the locks on the doors? What's the average cost to reprogram the locking system and change the locks on a 2001 ford mustang? Before doing anything call the dealer and ask them if they have key codes for your model vehicle.

Ford has a database that is shared by every dealership which contains a 5 digit key that is assigned to that particular VIN. Then they just enter this code into the key cutting machine and it cuts your key. You will still need to have them programmed at the dealer, so your car will have to be towed in. The key's cost around $35-$40 each and the programming is another $40 or so

Be prepared to show ownership of the vehicle, like a registration and drivers license,or they won't assist you.
