Why do I need to put much radiator coolant in my Ford Probe ?

I have a Ford Probe 1994. The engine was overheating and I discovered that I had to put 1.3 gallon of radiator coolant. Now, it's normal. But is there something wrong ? Maybe there is a small crack somewhere in your engine. Keep monitoring the coolant level and see if it is still going down then you can be sure there is an internal leak. The cylinder head and head gasket is usually where coolant can leak into the cylinders and be pumped out with the exhaust so you can't tell it is leaking because there is no puddle on the ground or your oil doesn't look milky.
