I'm trying to decide if fixing my car is worth it. I have a 97 ford explorer with 125,*** miles.
Things that need to be fixed:
catalytic converter
brake lines
front drive shaftHow much would it cost to repair my ford explorer?it is according to how much you are wanting to spend the catalytic converter sometimes has to be cut out and wielded in some bolt in if you have to replace all brake lines that could cost you. whole lot of bending involved a bit time consuming allot of times mechanics don't want to be bothered with it. front drive shaft I wouldn't think be all that bad to replace brake lines i would think be the more expensive side of that project is also according to what the mechanic shop is charging there is a manual they have to follow for charging called a flat rate manual so if the job calls for lets say 8 hours of work and they charge 50 dollars a hour your looking at 400 dollars in just labor little research will let you know if it is worth continuing on may or may not be in your budget also shop around some shops might be cheaper than others good luck. How much would it cost to repair my ford explorer?for the replacement of your cat converter it's gonna cost for about $300,driveshaft $272. most shop will get even higher. I might suggest you this auto repair shops that can find near you. Or you can save a lot of money if your gonna do it by yourself. How much would it cost to repair my ford explorer? The cat would be around $200, the brake lines, depends on what type you get, could cost $60-300, and the front drive shaft, that would cost about $160. But if you go to www.autozone.com and input your vehicle information in, it would give you a better cost, than my estimates.
Btw, if that's all the problems you have with this vehicle, then it is worth fixing!
