What can cause the no spark problem on my Ford?

I have a 1993 Ford Explorer. My sister was driving down a road when the engine stalled. I hooked up a spark tester and the plugs has no spark. It has no distributor. But it has a ignition coil. I brought the ignition coil to my auto shop and the teacher said its still good. The spark plug wires are still good. The spark plugs look pretty bad. Can it cause it to have no spark? Put a set of new ones in. I suggest platimun plugs. I have a set that are still good after about 70,000 miles, that i installed back in 2003. If the spark plugs aren't the problem, check the battery. It should not be lower than 10 volts. If it is, that is likely the problem. The battery is supposed to carry 12 volts. Check the relays that say engine or ignition. Also check the timing belt or chain. I can't see any other reason for it to not have spark.
