What does adjusting the adjustment screw on a Ford C4 Tranny do?

Wanted to see if there was anything good that could come out of adjusting it. Its been slipping from 2-3 for 10 years and I was hoping twisting that screw would fix it... :)

Have a 1960 Ford Falcon with a 289.What does adjusting the adjustment screw on a Ford C4 Tranny do?depends on which 'screw ' you are talking about ,if it has a 3/4 " nut wrapped around it it is a band adjusting screw, which will not help you because it is for 2nd gear and if it is inside vacume hose attached to the modulator it is for shift feel -hard of soft- and that wont help you either. if your tranny is slipping 2-3 on a 49year old c4 the frictions or internal pistion seals need replacingWhat does adjusting the adjustment screw on a Ford C4 Tranny do?Nice ride....the adjustment is for the intermediate band (second gear). Unfortunately, the adjustment has no effect on high gear.
