Kings
In this game, players do certain actions that are associated with each card. Like many other drinking games, kings is played with different "house rules" throughout the United States
Usually, cards are shuffled and dealt into a circle around either an empty cup or a full can of beer (or shot/cup of spirits or wine). Each player takes turn drawing cards, and the players must participate in the instructions corresponding to the drawn card.
This game is highly open ended and all of the cards can signify any mini game, the rules and the card assignments are normally confirmed at the start of the game. Once again, depending on house rules, the game either ends when all cards have been chosen, or when the king's cup has been consumed; or when the cards are placed on top of the king's cup the game is over when the cards fall off, the one that knocked them off must consume the king's cup.
Common Card Assignments
The following is a list of the most common card assignments. They can be varied at the will of the players before the game commences.
Card Drawn Title Instruction
Ace "Waterfall" To "water fall" each player starts drinking their beverage, depending on the direction of the game (whether you are picking cards clockwise or counter clockwise). No player can stop drinking until the player they please. Waterfall is only recommended with beer and the like. For higher % drinks use the "Social" rule. See Variations below.
2 "You" The player who drew the card assigns someone to take a shot.
3 "Me" The player who drew the card drinks.
4 "Whores" -All girls drink
5 "Jive" Like Simon says, but with multiple steps. The person who drew the card makes a move (i.e. thumbs up) and the player beside him/her must do the same move, but add another after it. Each player adds a subsequent move until one person cannot repeat the full combination of moves.
6 "*****" All participating Men drink.
7 "Heaven" All players must point to the ceiling (Heaven). The last player to point takes a drink.
8 "Mate" The player who drew the 8 selects another player to be his/her "drinking mate". Any time the player drink, the mate must drink as well.
9 "Bust a Rhyme" The player who drew the 9 says a phrase, then the players go around in the circle saying phrases that rhyme with the original. No phrase may be said twice, the first player who can not come up with a phrase, or says a phrase that doesn't rhyme must drink.
10 "Never Have I Ever" The player who drew the 10 must play a variation of the game Never Have I Ever in which only three fingers are held up.
Jack "Jackagories" The player who drew the jack picks a category such as "sports teams" or "bands from the '90s," the players then go around in the circle saying items from that category, the first player who can not think of an item or says something not in the category (or if all items have been exhausted) must drink.
Queen "Question Master" The player who drew the Queen keeps it until some one answers any question asked. The player who answers must drink or, depending on the house rules, all players must go around the circle asking questions (some variations require that the question be contextually sensible) or the player with whom the asker made eye contact with must ask a question to another player (in some circles asking to the same person loses the game). No question may be said twice (or repackaged in some versions), the first player who can not come up with a question, or says something that is not a question must drink
.
King "Rule/Kings cup" When a player draws a King that person makes a rule that has to be followed the rest of the game, such as: No Cursing, Green Man (you have to pretend to take a tiny man off your cup before you drink then put him back on when you're done. If you do not follow the rule you must take another drink. It is considered unsporting to make rules which affect a particular person or group of people, rather than target everyone. (Compare "John cannot speak English" vs "The next one to draw a club cannot speak english"). Pour some of your drink into kings cup; last king to be pulled drinks kings cup (also if someone knocks down the cards)
] Variations and other rules
Like almost all other drinking games, Kings Cup has endless variations of rules. It is not common to play Kings Cup exactly the same when playing with new people. There will be similar rules, but there will most likely always be some you've never heard of. These rules below are some of the other popular rules not covered in the common rules. Many of these rules are used with the "King - Make a Rule" rule. You can also replace some of the common rules you do not like with these. Kings cup is not a competitive game. Some people have completely different rules for the cards drawn. As long as everyone knows what the cards mean before the game starts, then it doesn't matter what rules you're using.Whats this card game? its also a drinking game !?
