Bluescreens on Vista? What could have caused it?Is it normal for such new OS?

Hey Guys!

I recently reformatted my laptop due to the bluescreens I experienced because one of my RAM failed.

My technician changed the broken RAM and reformatted my HP pavilion dv6000t laptop using my recovery discs.

The recovery was successful and my technician installed several programs on my Vista laptop including Kaspersky 6.0,Winamp,Games(Need for Speed,Flash games, pop cap games, warcraft and Diablo(not compatible) and FBA which is a MS-DOS based game).Again,I experienced 2-3 bluescreens.I suspect that it was due to the incompatible programs or to the shockwave.Or maybe BLUESCREENS is just included in the package of VISTA.I mean probably VISTA is really prone to this since it's new and others even say it's a crap.I hope it's not a hardware defect. What do you think? Please answer me honestly and professionaly.Thank You!Bluescreens on Vista? What could have caused it?Is it normal for such new OS?
Try uninstalling those incompatible games, if that dosen't work it could be not enough power or something. Pay more attention to the BSOD, check the problem. It may be below the area where it says Windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.Bluescreens on Vista? What could have caused it?Is it normal for such new OS?
do an online virus scan like from Trend Micro. sometimes the Blue Screen of Death is caused by a stealth virus and all you did won't make it go away. i suffered with this for 4 months. changed video card, ram, etc.Bluescreens on Vista? What could have caused it?Is it normal for such new OS?
I do not think it would be a hardware problem as i am presuming it is a fairly new laptop and laptops generally do not have major hardware problems. Blue screens are very strange, they can appear out of no where and can also stop without warning, i think its called 'the bluescreen of death' I think it means that once you are getting bluescreens regularly, i mean like every time you switch the PC on, then a format and reinstall of windows may be required again. I think in the first instance, you should have formatted first before changing RAM. The last time i had 'the blue screen of death' on my vista laptop, i used the recovery disk to re-boot, and i have had no problems since then. I think installing too many programs isn't too healthy either, especially on a laptop, gaming is fine on desktops, but gaming is not too great on laptops, i think the reason is probably because there isn't much air circulation in a laptop and therefore it may overheat while playing games. A great deal of memory and CPU power is used when gaming.

At a guess, i think that the RAM has maby overheated and failed while gaming???...

Hope this has helped... Good luck
